β¦ Synopsis
Absbmct-A thermodynamic treatment of the proton equilibrium shows that the electrode potential of the manganese dioxide-electrode referred to the hydrogen electrode in the same solution should be pHindependent. As this is not confirmed by the literature values of the electrode potential, a study of the electrode near the open circuit potential has been performed. The results have been treated by using a spherical model for diffusion in the electrode.

Open-circuit potential-time transients during the discharge of alkaline porous iron electrodes at various states-of-charge have been studied. From this, it has been possible to arrive at a correlation between the parameters of self-discharge kinetics of the electrode and observed open-circuit potent
The adsorption of long chain quaternary ammonium ions at a mercury electrode was studied recently by the capacity and drop-time methods 1-s. An unusual feature of this system was the behaviour of the capacity peak at negative potentials. In many other systems 6 this peak corresponds to the desorptio
