✦ Synopsis

AND C. N. FRI~Y (Jour. of Nutrition, 1934, VIII, lO5-111) report that, when irradiated yeast is included in the ration of a dairy cow in the production of vitamin D milk, practically IOO per cent. of its vitamin D content is absorbed and appears in the blood. The concentration of this vitamin in the blood plasma governs its concentration in the milk; 2 to 3 per cent. of the ingested vitamin appears in the milk, the remainder either is destroyed in the body or is excreted; the disappearance from the blood is quite rapid.
