โฆ Synopsis
T he combination of a globalized work- force with massive mobility is compelling organizations to work with growing numbers of people from different cultures, with different customs, values, beliefs, and practices. This article describes some of the factors HR managers and company leadership must account for to create global people policies and practices that reflect the common culture of the organization, yet adapt to local realities and business needs. Cases drawn from the author's consulting work with multinational businesses not only describe specific challenges faced by those firms, but also highlight the broader trends that all global companies need to understand and manage.
