✦ Synopsis

lii order to determine the relative frequency of various forms of cancer occurriizg among Chinese in Hong Kong, 5,634 histologically proven malignant tumors were tabulated according to the source of material, age and sex of the patient, and primary site and histologic type of the tumor. The findings were compared with observations made on Chinese in other parts of Asia. The high relative frequency in the Hong Kong population of carcinomas of the nasopharynx, liver and chorion was confirmed; penile carcinoma was found to be less common than hitherto believed; attention was directed to the relative infrequency of carcinoma of the prostate gland and squamous cell carcinoma of the lip.
