โœฆ Synopsis

Making the most of luminescence applications

Incorporating state-of-the-art optical design and the latest in software advances, the new Luminoskan Ascent from Labsystems Oy is a highly flexible luminometer. Ideal for both the measurement of glow and flash type reactions, the Luminoskan Ascent can be used for applications such as DNA hybridisation studies based on luminescent enzyme substrate. Optical filters can be placed between the sample and detector if needed. Controlled microplate reactions are made possible by the incorporation of up to three on-board dispensers. These dispensers can deliver reagents in 5 ~1 increments over an adjustable volume of 5-1000 ~1. To maintain optimum reaction conditions the Luminoskan Ascent incorporates a precise temperature-controlled incubator with built in orbital shaker ensuring effective reagent mixing at variable speed and amplitude.

Convenient electrophoresis

Protein purification E-Gelsm are bufferless, precast agarose gels specifically designed for fast and convenient electrophoresis.

From Invitrogen, E-GelsTM offer a complete electrophoresis system because they are both gels and electrophoresis units. Agarose, electrodes, and ethidium bromide are all packaged inside a dry, disposable, UV-transparent cassette. This offers one-step electrophoresis and staining with excellent resolution in just 35 minutes. E-GelsTM are supplied in 12well minigel format with 1.2%, 2.0% and 4% agarose concentrations.
