Abstract

I don't read the paper any more. I avoid news programs on TV. My 401K statements? They are sitting in a pile on top of the filing cabinet, unopened. There seems to be no end to disheartening stories of economic problems, both business and personal. It's depressing. Denial is a powerful mood‐altering tool, and I've seen it used quite effectively, but that only helps to a degree.
