## Abstract Semibatch stirred tank reactors with a turbulent flow field are used frequently in the chemical process industry to accomplish mixing tasks. Mixing in a turbulent flow consists of several processes. Descriptions for these processes from literature are used to construct a model to calcul

β¦ Synopsis
A system of one or more stirred tank reactors in series can be subjected to changes in working volume and throughput while maintaining a stationary residence time distribution. This in turn will ensure constant product quality-with arbitrary reaction kinetics-over a broad range of operating conditions. The results are directly applicable to demand changes and shutdown operations. They can be used to generate a controlled cycle in the discharge flow rate while maintaining constant product composition. If product quality depends on the exact form of the residence time distribution, there is no way to achieve uniform quality throughout a start-up. However, the total amount of substandard material can be held to an arbitrarily small limit.

## Abstract A comprehensive mathematical model for freeβradical copolymerization reactions has been developed for a homogeneous continuous stirred tank reactor. The present model is based on a fairly general copolymerization scheme accounting for the formation of linear and branched copolymer chain
The paper is concerned with the kinetics of mesophase formation from a petroleum and an extracted coal tar pitch during pyrolysis in a discontinuous stirred tank reactor under argon and hydrogen pressures of 1 MPa. The mesophase is a product of consecutive reactions. Its formation under all conditio
