✦ Synopsis
We consider tunneling transport between two parallel phase-coherent quantum wires with a magnetic ÿeld applied perpendicular to the plane of the wires. In the strong-tunneling regime, magnetic ÿeld can be used to tune coherent charge oscillations between the two wires. Magnetotunneling provides a momentum-resolved spectroscopic probe in the opposite limit of weak tunneling. In particular, it could be used to observe the dynamical separation of electronic charge and spin degrees of freedom that is predicted to occur in interacting one-dimensional systems.
