Magnetostriction loops of a hard superconductor are calculated analytically. The geometry under consideration is a thin flat superconductor in a magnetic field perpendicular to the flat face of the sample. The analytical representation of the results is given in a relationship with the magnetic flux

β¦ Synopsis
This presentation reviews recently obtained results on high-temperature superconductor expansion below the superconducting transition temperature (T sn ). An original experimental set-up for control of strain effects in a magnetic field is described. Special attention is paid to magnetostriction (MS) in rigid superconductors of different types and compositions with respect to distinguished regions of their phase (BT) diagrams. The dilatometric and structural measurements are compared and treated on the basis of a developed approach, the main components of MS are estimated, and the pinning-force contribution is discussed in more detail. The study on the samples with structures varied by mechanical and heat treatment is also reported.
