The ordinary ?rE effect has hcen observed only In the shear modulus 01 Nd,Fe,,B below 1X1 K. A softening in the longitudinal modulus was observed for both compounds below 7', . mzhich i\ explained as an inverse effect of the volume magnetostriction.
