✦ Synopsis
Low-temperature magneto-optical imaging of a single crystal of magnetic superconductor Sm 1:85 Ce 0:15 CuO 4Àx (SCCO) revealed unusual distribution of the magnetic induction upon magnetic flux penetration and expulsion, implying very low flux pinning. Although some observed features could be compatible with surface or geometric barrier on flux entry, flux exit exhibits distinctively different behavior showing magnetic flux trapped around the sample edge. The role of magnetism in the reduction of pinning is discussed.
