We present a comparative study of two different spectroscopic techniques in order to determine the valence band offset in \(\mathrm{CdTe} /(\mathrm{CdMn}) \mathrm{Te}\) quantum wells. On the one hand the energy difference between heavy- and light-hole excitons as a function of the heavy-hole transit
The binding energies and Bohr radii for excitons involving electrons in excited subbands and heavy and light holes in modulation-doped quantum wells are studied. It is found that under an applied magnetic field the magneto-exciton binding energies increase much more rapidly than in the undoped well.
