✦ Synopsis

The temperature dependences of the magnetization and the quadrupolar moment in the spin-~ Blume-Capel model on honeycomb lattices are examined in detail by the use of new formulations based on both the exact Ising spin identities and the differential operator technique. A number of characteristic behaviors for their thermal variations are obtained, especially for negative values of the crystal-field constant.

Two-spin cluster theory for the Blume-Ca
✍ M. Jurčišin; A. Bobák; M. Jaščur 📂 Article 📅 1996 🏛 Elsevier Science 🌐 English ⚖ 504 KB

A two-spin cluster effective field theory for the Blume-Capel model with arbitrary spin S is presented by making use of exact spin identities and taking advantage of the differential operator technique. The dependence of the transition temperature is studied as a function of the single-ion 3 and 2.

The spin -3 Blume-Emery Griffiths model is studied using the effective field theory based on the use of a probability distribution that correctly accounts for the single site kinematic relations. The phase diagrams of the model on a square lattice are obtained.

The critical properties of the d-dimensional Blume-Capel model is studied by using the mean field renormalization group method. The phase diagram and tricritical behaviour of the square lattice and various three-dimensional lattices have been analysed. Results are compared with those of high-tempera
