✦ Synopsis

In order to study interplay between magnetism and superconductlvlty, magnetic measurements were performed on the Sm2.x_yGdxCeyCUO4. d system. Supercond~ctlng and antiferromagnetic transitions are observed in the samples of x<0,? below 25 K. Both transitions are surpressed by Gd. The samples with high Gd content {x>1.5) show successive magnetic transitions below 10K. The orientation of rare-earth me ments is along c-axis for x<0.7 and parallel to ab-plane for x~1.5.
