We present magnetic and specific heat measurements of the series Sr2RuCeo.sMCu201o\_a (R = Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd; M = Nb, Ta). Superconductivity occurs for y > 0.8 (R = Nd, Sm, Eu), however, for Gd only in combination with M = Nb, while the corresponding Pr compounds are found to be nonsuperconducting.

The effect of synthesis conditions on (PbU,5Cdu.s)Sr;l(Yn,SCan.s)CU20, has been investigated. For the (Pb,Cd).1212 phase, quenching is not necessary. Quenching the (Pb,Cd)β’1212 phase exclusively suppresses its superconductivity, although quenching is favorable for the {Pb,Cu)-1212 phase in removing
