β¦ Synopsis
The layer magnetisations, the transverse and longitudinal susceptibilities of a diluted Ising thin ferromagnetic film in a transverse field are investigated within the framework of the effective-field theory with correlations. The results show that the surface layer magnetisation is smaller than the internal layer magnetisations, regardless of the values of surface coupling constant when the concentration of magnetic atoms is lower and that there exists intersecting behaviour among different layer magnetisations when the concentration is higher. The transverse susceptibility and longitudinal susceptibility of the system are calculated.
