✦ Synopsis

The magnetic suseeptibiEty of powdered crystals of TANOL (4-hydroxy-2.2.6,6-tetramethylpiperidinof-l+xy) has been measured in the temperature range between 4.2 and 0.1 K. The results are compared with the theoretical calculations of Banner and Fisher. Below 0.43 K, an interesting thermal behavior has been observed, which is thought to be associated with a first order phase transition. TN is estimated to be 0.34 K from the thermal beha-vior of the sample.
