The magnetic subqevel splitting of selective adsorption resonances in molecule/surface scattering is discussed and the possibility of determining the orientation-dependent part of the interaction potential is investigated. An accurate anisotropy is obtained for H2/Ag (110) by fitting recent experimental data.
