β¦ Synopsis
We extract the magnetic polarizability from the quadratic response of a hadron's mass shift in progressively small static magnetic fields. The calculation is done on a 24 x 12 x 12 x 24 lattice at a = 0.17 fm with an improved gauge action and the clover quark action. The results are compared to those from experiments and models where available.

I present recent developments in the lattice QCD calculations of the light hadron spectrum. Emphasis is placed on the failure of the quenched approximation in reproducing the observed spectrum and indications that the discrepancy is reduced by introducing two flavors of light dynamical quarks.
We address the issue of hadron deformation within the framework of lattice &CD. For hadrons with spin greater than l/2 the deformation can be determined by evaluating the charge and matter distributions. Deviation of the nucleon shape from spherical symmetry is determined by evaluating the quadrupol
