Instrumentation for precise calorimetry under magnetic fields of up to 7 T in the temperature range 40-120 K is reported. A new type of resistance bridge with a selfcompensating function for the magnetoresistance of platinum resistance thermometers has been developed for this purpose. This thermomet

โฆ Synopsis
Hc2 measurement in high pulsed fields, of type II superconductors is described. A special pick-up is used to measure the induced dM/dt while, simultaneously, an operational amplifier gives the derivative of the differential susceptibility (DDS). The double peak signal obtained decreases with increasing field and temperature and disappears at H = Hc2 or T -----T . The shape of this peak is also derived from the analysis of the hysteresis loop of type II harc~ superconductor in high field, close to Hc2. The method was used to measure He2 of YBa2Cu30 ~ samples prepared in different ways. All samples give the same Hc2 value, Hc2 = 15.6 T at 78 K. The results obtained are discussed and compared with those given in the literature.
