The absorption and MCD spectra of 3Hcyclohept[a]azrllen-3*,ne were measured to show that it e?asts in &fiexent structures in CF3COzH and CH30H. A semiempirical LCAO MO SCF CL calculation revealed the electronic tram&ions characteristic of the 7,5,7-nng system and interpreted the spectrai change of 3H-cyclohept[a]azulesG-one in CF3COzH and CH30H.
