Room temperature magnetic circular dichroism spectra have been obtained for Most', MoOi-, B'S;-, ReS;, VSi-, VOz-and 0~0, through their first and second charge-transfer bands. These measurements demonstrate that the band at longest wnvelen_eth fv 1 band) must be assigned to a t t -+ 2e transition for all the compounds investigated.
