Abstract
BaFe~12βx~ (Mn~0.5~Co~0.5~Ti)~x /2~O~19~ hexaferrites with x = 1, 2 and 3 were prepared by a solβgel process. The reaction temperature was much lower than that of the conventional ceramic method. The ferrite powders possess a hexagonal shape and are well separated from one another. Thermogravimetric analysis, Xβray diffraction, a scanning electron microscope, an ac susceptometer and a vibrating sample magnetometer were used to analyze their structures and magnetic properties. The results showed that for all the samples magnetoplumbite structures have been formed. The samples with x = 2 and 3 have higher magnetic susceptibility and larger coercive force.
