✦ Synopsis

The magnetic properties of the layered perovskite ferromagnet (p-cyanoanilinium+)2CuC124 -have been studied under hydrostatic pressures up to 1 GPa. The ferromagnetic exchange gradually increases with increasing pressure and becomes 1.4 times as large at 1 GPa. The pressure dependence of the exchange constant can be semi-quantitatively interpreted in terms of the shrinkage of the Cu-C1-Cu superexchange pathway.
