✦ Synopsis

The magnesium concentration of serum, eerebrospinal fluid and daily urine has been determined in 114 mentally defective and brain-damaged children and adolescents. One third of cases with cerebral palsy showed high magnesium concentration in cerebrospinal fluid. The raised eerebrospinal fluid value may be one manifestation of severe damage to the brain cell function.
