medical o&em, over half the text covers introductory chapters on physics, radioactivity, ionization, and the atomic bomb. The medical chapters review the life history of the cell, the effects of radiation on cells and on the body as a whole, and one chapter (five pages) discusses treatment of radiation casualties.

A short chapter on monitoring instruments and one on protection against radiation conclude the main portion of the book.
