✦ Synopsis
A method for sampling benthos communities is proposed in order to test the hypothesis of homogeneity underlying the classical sampling methods . Multivariate factorial analysis gives insight into the specific sample profiles and documents some unexpected factors of variation . A study of the Oligochaete community of the lake of Creteil illustrates the method .
