✦ Synopsis
Magneto-luminescence experiments were performed in quantum Hall systems of II-VI semiconductors at high magnetic fields up to 35 T. In CdTe/CdMgTe quantum wells, a main luminescence peak is close to the other peak, which emerges at the high energy side for n 1, under high magnetic fields. In CdMnTe/CdMgTe quantum wells, a large discontinuity of the luminescence peak was observed at n ¼ 1. The origin of these behaviors can be explained from the viewpoint of the charged exciton. In this study, we performed polarized PL experiments in a QHS of a CdTe/CdMgTe SQW and a CdMnTe/CdMgTe SQW at very high steady magnetic fields for investigating the nature of the PL for n 1.
