We have investigated lifetime and solvent broadening, represented by a Voigt profile, for absorption spectra of g-carotene in isopentane, acetone and ethanol over a wide temperature range. The analysis provides good broadening parameters and displacement for the strong Q2, mode, whereas the 4 and a,
