✦ Synopsis

Luminescence lifetimes and photoaquation quantum yields of RhAsX* (A = NH3 or ND3, X-= Cl-or Br-) measured in aqueous solution indicate that emission and aquation are competitive processes of the same ligand field excited state. Lifetimes are lo-30 ns with the longer lived perdeuterio complexes also displaying larger photoreaction quantum yields.
