Abstract

The absorption, photoluminescence, photo‐stimulated luminescence (PSL) and emission decay of CsBr:Cu and CsBr:CuO crystals have been studied for estimation of the application possibilities of the compounds based on CsBr:Cu as a storage phosphors. The role of the Cu^2+^ and Cu^+^ ions in the PSL proceses of the CsBr:Cu compounds was considered. The comparison with the storage properties of the CsBr:Cu and CsBr:CuO crystals with the CsBr:Eu crystals have been provided. (© 2005 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
