This Paper is a review of the factors that determine the thermal conductivity of polymers below 100 K. Starting from the 'universal' behaviour found in all amorphous solids we shall examine how far this can be changed when we come to consider semicrystalline polymers, and the further changes that ca

We measured the thermal conductivity of a Kevlar cord, 0.8 mm in diameter, in the 0.1ยฑ2.5 K temperature range. The data were ยฎtted with a power-law: k 3X9 AE 0X2 ร‚ 10 ร€5 T 1X17AE0X04 Wacm K. Our results are in good accordance with the existing data at T b 2 K.
