A novel Eu 3+ doped strontium aluminate (Sr 5 Al 2 O 8 ) nanorod phosphors with high brightness and long afterglow were prepared by sintering the precursor (produced by a low-heating-temperature solid-state method) at 1100 β’ C in a reducing atmosphere. Sr 5 Al 2 O 8 :Eu 3+ phosphor nanorods with dia
