Abstract

The Edmonton Municipal Airport, being within the city limits, is completely surrounded by a source of moisture from the combustion of natural gas. Since the natural gas is metered to consumers, a quantitative study of the injection of moisture into the air around the airport is possible. Equations and graphs show how moisture in the air at the airport is influenced by temperature, wind velocity and initial relative humidity. The results obtained are compared with fog conditions observed at the airport during the winter of 1949โ€“50.
