Submersibles keep the fountains flowing
Grundfos' SP 12042 10 in submersible p u m p s have been installed in a series of recently completed water features at the New Oxford Business Park, UIC The high performance submersible p u m p s are providing a continual flow of water to three u n i q u e fountains.
Each f o u n t a i n is located in the centre of one side of three m a n -m a d e lakes, which form an i m p o r t a n t part of the l a n d s c a p i n g of t h i s m a s s i v e new development.
The three f o u n t a i n s are built form York stone, which was specially selected and quarried for this project, with fifty t o n n e s of stone being required for each.
The fountains measure approximately 4 m in height and 6 m in width, with the lake water being p u m p e d up through the centre of each construction by a Grundfos SP120-2 submersible pump, at a rate of 200 1/min. The water flows over the top and down the front of the stone wall, r e t u r n i n g to the lake to be re(:irculated through the pump.
The Grundfos SP 120-2, 10 in s u b m e r s i b l e p u m p s used are virtually all stainless steel in construction, including impellers and stage chambers.
