✦ Synopsis
A procedure for measuring low levels of Cl4 radioactivity, diluted with large amounts of inactive carbon in heterogeneous samples, has been developed. It was used during a metabolic balance study of L-ascorbic-l-C" acid in monkeys (9) and humans. The techniques employed arc' described below, in particular the modifications developed in t,he use of a Schijniger (1, 2) type of oxidation flask for the conversion of liquid and solid samples to barium carbonate.
