✦ Synopsis
It is reported here that colossal constant magnetoresistance (CCMR) over the whole temperature range below the insulatormetal transition can be realized at low magnetic fields through doping 4% Cu in the sol-gel prepared La 2/3 Ca 1/3 MnO 3 sample sintered at 950 8C. The magnetoresistance defined as MR 0 ¼ rðT; H ¼ 0Þ 2 rðT; HÞ rðT; H ¼ 0Þ or MR ¼ rðT; H ¼ 0Þ 2 rðT; HÞ rðT; HÞ ;
it is shown that the CCMR has values of MR 0 (MR) as high as , 60% (, 1.3 £ 10 2 %), , 90% (, 1.2 £ 10 3 %) and ,100% (,3 £ 10 4 %) for magnetic fields of H ¼ 0:1; 0.3 and 1 T, respectively.
