## Abstract Well‐crystallized CuInSe~2~ powders with chalcopyrite structure are obtained from the hydrothermal reaction of CuCl~2~, InCl~3~, Se, NaOH, and triethanolamine (H~2~O, autoclave, 180 Β°C, 1 h).
