✦ Synopsis

Claire Davenport is a one-woman wonder in a world dominated by men. The majority owner of Jack's Outfitters, a business her father and grandfather founded, Claire does a bang-up business renting canoes and kayaks to the visitors of the Ozark National Scenic Riverway outside Eminence, Missouri. But one thing the early-30s businesswoman is lacking is a love life. That is, until a handsome stranger arrives at her establishment, looking to be shown around the area.

Rhett Buchanan is an Okie on a mission: to locate new investment and development opportunities. On a trip to Tennessee, he stumbled across the Ozark Riverway and had to take a look. He didn't figure on finding a woman like Claire to show him around. But he knows he can't tell her the real reason for his interest in the region, especially since he feels an immediate attraction to the outfitter. Telling her he's there to disrupt the economic climate of the region isn't exactly the way to win the heart of a woman tied tightly to her community.

But when the townsfolk figure out just who Rhett is and why he's there, Claire and Rhett's fledgling romance will be put to the test. Can she trust an outsider? Especially since he wants to irreparably change her home? Or will their love go belly up and swirl downstream, lost to the Current?
