Libby Simon is finally content. Living at the Full Heart Ranch is her dream come true, and building a veterans retreat center on the land is a project far more fulfilling than anything shes ever done. She expects life to stay calm and predictable for a good long time, just the way she likes it. And then her brother's friend comes to the ranchthe most irresistible man shes ever encountered. He seems made for her. Unfortunately, hes not meant for her.
Detective Ryan Anderson isn't a man who leaves things to chance. He sets goals, works hard, and reaches them. He's on the verge of becoming Chief of Police, and then everything screeches to a halt. Someone is trying to ruin his career, and maybe even eliminate him altogether. With no leads and no idea who his enemies are, getting out of town for a while seems the wise thing to do.
At his best friends urging, Ryan heads to the Full Heart Ranch, where there is plenty to keep him busy while he seeks to identify the people trying to get rid of him. The only problem with that planthe beautiful and distracting Libby. Shes Ryans type and then some, but shes also a forever kind of girl, and he wont allow himself to think in those terms.
The surprises arent over for Ryan, and he finds himself relying on Libbys strength and support a little more every day. Both of them are desperately fighting their attraction, but for very different reasons. Neither of them believe they can ever be more than friends, but it seems God has plans far greater than their own.
As life comes together in ways he would have never predicted, Ryan begins to see his forever after all. And it includes Libby Simon. He sets a new goal, his biggest one yet, and with a little help from above, hes up for the challenge.
