โœฆ Synopsis

This paper presents a new methodology which performs both lossless compression and encryption of binary and gray-scale images. The compression and encryption schemes are based on SCAN patterns generated by the SCAN methodology. The SCAN is a formal language-based two-dimensional spatial-accessing methodology which can e$ciently specify and generate a wide range of scanning paths or space "lling curves. This paper presents a brief overview of SCAN, compression and decompression algorithms, encryption and decryption algorithms, and test results of the methodology.

This paper describes a method for lossless image compression where relative pixel values of prediction regions in a set of training images are stored as a codebook. In order to achieve decorrelation of the pixels comprising an image, each pixel's prediction neighborhood is assigned to a neighborhood

This article describes a new straightforward technique for lossless image compression, entitled simple prediction method, which results in compression ratios similar to those achieved by the most powerful techniques described in the literature. The predictive model used by the method is one in which

A Hilbert space-filling curve is a curve traversing the 2 n ร— 2 n two-dimensional space and it visits neighboring points consecutively without crossing itself. The application of Hilbert space-filling curves in image processing is to rearrange image pixels in order to enhance pixel locality. A compu
