β¦ Synopsis
Abstrac~A study has been carried out on the loss of mononuclear phenolic antioxidants from polypropylene under conditions which simulate those found both during the incorporation of the antioxidant into the polymer at 190[ and during subsequent usage at 140 Β°. In the latter case, rate constans have been calculated for the loss of additive. The influence of the structure of the antioxidant on its loss from the polymer is discussed and compared with the measured volatility when the phenols are heated alone at 280 Β° .
