โฆ Synopsis
The existing designs of mobile Peer-to-Peer systems mainly focus on efficient data search. Due to the peering node mobility in MANETs, traditional P2P data download approaches are not efficient in mobile P2P environments. In this paper, we propose a Location Aided Mobile Peer-to-Peer protocol, LAMP, which provides an effective location aided data delivery protocol in ad hoc environments. By utilizing information about nodes' physical locations, LAMP can adaptively construct a good delivery path in a completely distributed manner. Through experiments, we compare the performance of LAMP with existing approaches in their data delivery success rate, delivery overhead, and average delay. The results show that LAMP significantly outperforms existing approaches.
