✦ Synopsis
The theory of stochastic interacting s'ysterns -those with a large number of locally interacting random components -has developed in recent years. It is a natural instrument for the mathematical modeling of actually existing systems, of complex biological, chemical, physical, and cybernetical systems, and of socioeconomic structures. Many of the papers included in the volume treat invariant distributions and the problem of ergodicity. Lattice models, automata systems and multicomponent models of various kinds are also considered, and questions of algorithmic unsolvability are also discussed. Throughout the volume the biological application is to models of neutron activity.
