โฆ Synopsis
The present paper reports the localizations of genes on all the seven chromosomes of the Petunia hybrida genome: Chromosome 1: Hfl, synthesis of petunidin; -II: FI, synthesis of flavonols, and Lu, chlorophyll deficiency; -III: Htl, kaempferol synthesis; -IV: Bl, flower shape (blind), and Ph2, flower colour; -V: Hf2, synthesis of petunidin, Un, corolla shape, PO, pollen colour and Spl, dark-green spots on leaves: -VI: Rt, synthesis of anthocyanin-3rutinoside, Anl, anthocyanin synthesis (general effect) and An2, anthocyanin synthesis (general effect); -VII: Ad, anthocyanin synthesis in pollen and corolla and Dw4, dwarfing gene.
More details concerning these genes are to be given in a list of genes which will be published in common by the Dutch and French research workers.
