✦ Synopsis
Abstract
The 14‐3‐2 acidic protein specific for nerve tissue has been localized to bands 4 and 5 counted from the anodal front band in a polyacrylamide‐gel eletrophoretic pattern. The material consisted of cut‐out layers of pyramidal nerve cells of the CA3 hippocampal region of the rat. Extracted protein samples were subjected to immunoprecipitation, Coons' double‐layer immunofluorescence, microcompletment fixation, and a localization experiment using microdensitometry on a 400 μΦ gel electrophoresis pattern with a without extra added 14‐3‐2 protein. The protein fractions 4 and 5, now shown to contain 14‐3‐2 protein, have recently been found to incorporate increased precursors at training as compared to controls.

The GF14 family of proteins in Arabidopsis thaliana consists of a homologous group of polypeptides ranging in size from approximately 27 kDa to approximately 32 kDa. As a group, GF14 proteins are also homologous to a family of mammalian proteins most commonly referred to as 14-3-3 proteins. Several
## Abstract The 14‐3‐3 family members play a crucial role in the determination of cell fate, exerting their antiapoptotic activity through directly interfering with the critical function of the mitochondrial core proapoptotic machinery. Dimerization of 14‐3‐3 is vital for the interaction with many
## Abstract We present the nucleotide sequence of a cDNA clone of mRNA encoding human 14‐3‐3 protein, a protein kinase‐dependent activator of tyrosine and tryp‐tophan hydroxylases and an endogenous inhibitor of protein kinase C. The 1,730‐nucleotide sequence of the cloned cDNA contains 191 bp of a
