โœฆ Synopsis

Eight dimensional symmetric composition algebras give very nice formulae for triality and local triality. These latter formulae will be extended to any algebra in a suitable variety. The simple algebras in this variety will be shown to be precisely the symmetric composition algebras over fields, while the prime algebras are central orders in the simple ones.
