When my little brother calls me to come save him from a bad date, I know exactly how to make him feel better. He needs the same things now as he did when I used to take care of him as a little boy.

Comfort food, like chicken nuggies or mac and cheese.

A fun movie, even if he’s embarrassed because he likes the animated ones best.

A bubble bath. A story. Bedtime with one of his plushies…

Weird? Nah. That’s just Parker.

But tonight, he slips and calls me β€œDaddy,” just like he used to when he was small. Back before he realized I wasn’t Daddy, just his much older big brother.

I don’t mind, though.

In fact, I think I might like it a little too much…
