✦ Synopsis


Lithium insertion into the silver vanadium oxide, Ag2V4On, was investigated at 25 and 100 Β°C, and was found to be reversible throughout the composition interval 0 <x<7, x being the composition parameter in Li~AgzV4OH. Silver was found to be mobile in the oxide, and for 0 <x < 2 insertion of lithium is associated with reduction of silver ions to metallic silver. When lithium is extracted, silver ions re-enter the structure.
