โœฆ Synopsis

it became apparent that some unnecessary duplication of effort was occurring in creating machine-readable texts. To help reduce this duplicate effort, a list of literary works already converted to machine language was needed. The first list was completed in July, 1965, and is now updated.

The data on the following pages were compiled in response to a questionnaire sent out to people who had bee~ reported as having done work in literary data processing. There are undoubtedly many others who are engaged in similar processing whose work is not reported here. It would be greatly appreciated if they would send information about their work to the compiler. To those who have been kind enough to answer the questionnaire, we express the hope that we have not distorted their information. We would appreciate hearing about any changes needed.
